Increasing demand for clean energy will require new electricity networks, while advanced sensing will open-up new opportunities for health diagnostics and security.  These developments will be underpinned by Compound Semiconductor (CS) technologies.

The Compound Semiconductor Applications Catapult is new Not for Profit organisation headquartered in South Wales and focused on helping industry exploit advances in CS technologies to make new technologies in a range of sectors a reality.  We are here to help the UK economy grow, and we work across the UK with a range of industry sectors from automotive to medical, and from digital communications to aerospace.

 

We are an organisation undergoing rapid growth and so we need an individual who will lead and oversee the delivery of the HR team efforts. The role of the Interim Head of HR – maternity cover will be to provide both strategic and operational support across CSA Catapult. 

 

Main duties and responsibilities

  • Continue the development and implementation of the HR strategy within the organisation working alongside the organisation’s leaders
  • Lead and develop the HR team
  • Work closely with the organisation’s leaders and line management providing expert guidance on a variety of HR matters
  • Continue the development of effective HR systems, procedures and policies to reflect organisation’s aims and focus
  • Advise on compliance and risk management issues
  • Oversee complex employee relations issues
  • Act as the lead externally facing representative for HR for the organisation
  • Create and implement succession planning and training

Qualifications and experience

  • Qualified CIPD member or equivalent
  • Ability to communicate and influence at all levels and deal with a wide range of people
  • Strong track-record as a senior HR generalist
  • Experience of managing a team
  • Commercially aware with relevant experience putting effective solutions into business, with an understanding of operating in an environment which uses public funding as a core part of its business model
  • Solid experience of employment law and UK legislation
  • A flexible approach to work including the ability to prioritise and re-prioritise to achieve successful outcomes both personally and through others.
  • Ability to deal with sensitive information with discretion and to maintain confidentiality at all times.

 

What do we offer? 

  • Up to £60,000 salary (FTE). We don’t need to know what your current salary is.
